Axion Social Care ltd

About us

Who are we?

Axion Social care limited is an Ofsted registered service that provides accommodation and support for young people aged 16+ looked after children/young people and care leavers in need of planned supported accommodation or emergency accommodation. The young people we support are at risk of homelessness due to family breakdowns or other family/personal circumstances. We also cater for the needs of those young people who may have legal restrictions or under the supervision of Youth offending services. We have provisions and are committed to make the necessary adjustments to meet the needs of young people with Autism, Epilepsy, and Asperger’s Syndrome, challenging behaviours or a mental health condition.

Break Free from the System: Axion's Revolutionary Approach to Supporting Young People on Their Journey Beyond Care.

We also provide outreach support with lifeskills, community and homecare support and socialisation for young people with additional needs living at home. This support offers respite to parents and carers of young people who may present with additional needs likely to place pressures on family lives. This support enables young people to access the community for socialisation whilst ensuring their primary carers have some much needed respite.

Our supported living service, strongly promotes and provides the necessary identified support for young people to access education, training and employment where this is applicable to empower them to develop the essential skills to live independently in the future.  This service will meet the needs of the young people by providing all round support with independent living that is monitored on an agreed daily plan.

Our Principles

Our young people: We aim to provide a service that is driven by the needs and aspirations of our young people by incorporating their views, wishes and feelings.

Fitness of purpose

We are committed to achieving our stated aims and objectives through regularly reviewing our service. We welcome the feedback from our young people and their representatives in order to make the improvements necessary.

Comprehensiveness

We aim to provide high quality care and support for our young people by working in a multi-professional environment.

Meeting Assessed Needs

The care we provide is based on the thorough assessment of needs and the systematic on-going planning of care and support for each young person, made in conjunction with them, their Local Authority and other professionals.

Quality Services

We are committed to providing a quality service that is compliant with the legal framework and guidance that informs this type of service.

Service Aims and Objectives

We work closely with Social Workers, external agencies workers, personal advisors and housing, Youth offending services and educational provisions to focus on the individual pathway plans of our young people, considering their specific individual needs and aspirations and identifying areas for personal development and overcoming barriers to give them the best possible opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Nature of the services provided:

Axion Social care Limited provides support to young people from the ages of 16 – 25 years old looked after children and care leavers, to enable them to live semi-independently.  All our premises can accommodate a mixture of both female and males. The matching process we undertake prior to accepting a referral takes into account the age, needs, risks and support required for each young person. We give serious consideration to the potential transferable risks between the young people in our care and ensure that young people who are more likely to increase risks or impact on the progress of the other are not placed together.

We currently do not have the facilities to support young people whose primary need is drug misuse or diagnosed psychiatric needs. We are also not currently set up to provide support to young people who may be on a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). However we hope to make the provisions for this and to ensure that our staff have the right training to be able to provide this service effectively.

Each young person’s needs will be assessed before support is offered to ensure that we have the resources to cater to their needs appropriately to run concurrent with the duration of their stay with us.

We understand, engage with and support young people by working with them to embed the skills required for independent living which include;

We will work individually with our young people on individually tailored, skills-based programmes to help maximise their personal development and planning transition to adulthood, and to ensure they are given every possible opportunity to fulfil their potential. We also work with both our young people and local employers to help match them to suitable voluntary or paid employment opportunities where this is achievable.

We operate a 24/7 service with a member of staff on duty round the clock providing sleep in shifts with an on-call service provided by a more senior member of staff 24/7. The number of staff on shift depends on the number of young people within the setting at each time and takes into consideration their assessed needs, risks and level of autonomy for each young person.
